      <title>Honolulu District hydraulic engineer named 2019 USACE Climate Champion Award winner</title>

      <description>Honolulu District’s Jessica Podoski, a hydraulic engineer in the Civil Works Technical Branch, Engineering and Construction Division, is the national U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Climate Champion of 2019 award winner for her work in preparing climate change and resilience studies in the Pacific Region.  In a May 12 email announcing the award, Kathleen White, chair of the USACE Headquarters Climate Preparedness &amp; Resilience (CPR) Community of Practice (CoP) said of Podoski that, “…Individually and as team members on other projects, you have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, creativity, innovation, and leadership in incorporating climate preparedness and resilience into your projects, and exemplify the best of the USACE.”
