Manele Small Boat Harbor

Manele Small Boat Harbor is located on the southern coast of the island of Lanai and it was completed in December 1965 at a total project cost of $742,845 (Federal: $370,845; non-Federal: $372,000).

The project was authorized by Section 107 of the River and Harbor Act of 1960. The project consists of an extension of existing 100-foot-long stub breakwater with a 470-foot-long rubblemound breakwater with a crest elevation of 14 feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) at the head and 6 feet at the root; an entrance channel (12 feet deep); and a main access channel and turning areas (8 feet deep). The local sponsor is the State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources.
