Lt. Col. Adrian Biggerstaff became the 74th Honolulu District Commander on July 10, 2024. Before joining the Honolulu District, he most recently served as a faculty member at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Biggerstaff is from Conroe, Texas, and commissioned into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in May 2005.
He has served in other command and staff positions including: Group Engineer for the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Fort Carson, Colorado; Assistant Professor and Executive Officer, Department of Civil & Mechanical Engineering at West Point; Commander of the 7th Engineer Dive Detachment, 65th Engineer Battalion in Operation Iraqi Freedom 11 and at Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Plans Officer, 65th Engineer Battalion in Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-09 and at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Executive Officer of the 7th Engineer Dive Detachment, 29th Engineer Battalion in Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08 and at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
Biggerstaff holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, Master of Science degrees in Environmental Engineering (Missouri S&T), Management Science (Stanford University), and Civil Engineering (Stanford University), and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri and a Project Management Professional.
He is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College, Engineer Basic and Advance Courses, Marine Engineer Diving Officer Course, Sapper Leader Course, and Airborne School.
Biggerstaff’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2), Meritorious Service Medal (4), Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (3), the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Diving Officer Badge, Sapper Tab, and Parachutist Badge.
Biggerstaff is married and has three children.
