Commander and District Engineer

Lieutenant Colonel Kathryn Sanborn is a native of Calais, Vermont and commissioned in 2002 as an engineer officer from the United States Military Academy where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Vermont.Lieutenant Colonel Sanborn most recently completed a doctorate in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2018.  Her research focused on exploring cross-laminated timber for use in temporary military structures.

Deputy District Engineer and Chief of Programs and Project Management

Stephen Cayetano is the Deputy District Engineer for Programs and Project Management at the Honolulu District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, headquartered at Fort Shafter on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. He also serves as the Chief of the Programs and Project Management Division.

Deputy Commander and Deputy District Engineer

Major Joshua M. Sturgill is the Deputy District Commander for the Honolulu District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stationed at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. He comes to the Honolulu District after serving as the operations and executive officer for the 7th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light) at Fort Drum, New York from August 2016 until June 2018.
