Anthony J. Paresa is the Deputy District Engineer for Programs and Project Management at the Honolulu District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, headquartered at Fort Shafter on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He also serves as the Chief of the Programs and Project Management Division.
The Honolulu District’s area of responsibility includes the State of Hawaii; U.S. Pacific Territories; and the Freely Associated States of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.
Major mission areas include: planning, real estate, design, and construction execution services for the U.S. Army at military installations; supporting U.S. military installation environmental documentation and remediation needs as well as managing and executing the Department of Defense Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) program; partnering with the State of Hawaii and U.S. Territories in the Pacific to study, plan, design, and construct U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works projects; provide engineering, environmental, design, and construction services for the State of Hawaii and Federal Agencies throughout the Pacific via the USACE Interagency and international Services program; and supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency in response to natural disasters in our area of responsibility. Mr. Paresa is responsible for the successful execution of these programs and supporting all associated military and civilian partners. In fiscal year 2013, the Honolulu District provided engineering design, study, environmental, and construction services totaling nearly $1 billion.
Mr. Paresa previously served as the Deputy Chief, Programs and Project Management Division for the Honolulu District where he led a staff of 65 engineers, scientists, accountants and administrative professionals to successfully execute the Honolulu District’s diverse Military,
Environmental, and Civil Works programs.
Mr. Paresa previously held a variety of positions within the Pacific Ocean Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to include Senior Military Program Manager, Air Force Program Manager, Army Program Manager and Environmental Program Manager, supporting Corps Districts in Alaska, Japan, Honolulu, and Korea. He has also served as the Chief, Hawaii County Support Department on the island of Hawaii for the Department of the Army’s Directorate of Public Works and spent 4 years in Japan as an Air Force Project Manager for the Japan District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Paresa holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Hawaii and is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.
