Stephen Hill, Director of Contingency Operations and Chief, Office of Homeland Security, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (center), and Christy Jones, USACE Deputy Chief, Office of Homeland Security, join other USACE team members, as well as local, state and federal partners for a briefing Oct. 24, prior to touring the areas affected by the Hawai’i wildfires. Hill’s office oversees execution of all USACE civil and military contingency operations during disaster response and recovery, and ensures the readiness of the critical teams and equipment that deploy for these operations. He and Jones were on Maui to ensure USACE response teams have everything they need to continue USACE recovery efforts in Hawai‘i.
