The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pacific Regional Visitor Center is thrilled by the the arrival of its brand-new Penny Press machine which arrived November 5, 2024. The Makapuu Lighthouse image is representative of USACE’s original mission of constructing lighthouses in Hawaii. The lighthouse was built by the Corps in 1909 and is still an active U.S. Coast Guard navigation aid used today. The image of Bobber the Safety Dog is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers National Operations Center for Water Safety mascot and emphasizes the importance of safety while partaking in outdoor recreational activities. Located on the 2nd floor of the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii on Fort DeRussy, the visitor center is easily within walking distance of all resort hotels and visitor accommodations and is free to the public.
