Interesting or unique fact about you:
I never climbed the ladder in my career field. I have worked in many areas: legal secretary to put myself through college, financial administrator for government contracts, managed a small software & hardware engineering firm, Budget Analyst, Space Programs Analyst at the Pentagon, Contracting, and Small Business. It’s called lattice work.
What are your hobbies or interests?
I show and breed champion boxers as “Amherst Boxers”
Your proudest moment in your life when you felt most accomplished?
When my daughter interviewed Madeline Albright.
Describe your job on a daily basis?
Never routine. Doing a lots of research, talking with folks from contracting and program management, and meeting with small businesses.
What is the most unique or distinct action you bring to the District?
I have a breadth of experience in private industry and the government which helps me be a diplomatic bridge with industry.
Who or what inspires you?
The Notorious RBG!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing a small business successfully perform a contract that has typically been done by large businesses
Highlight a notable milestone or memory in your career.
The highlight of my career is being selected to this position. I am doing what I love and doing it in paradise.
What goals do you hope to accomplish in your position?
To have more contracts awarded to Woman Owned and Veteran small businesses as well as overall more contracts to small businesses.
After a stressful week, what do you do to unwind, let off steam, or relax?
Explore the island and go hiking.
The best part of being at Honolulu District is? ( I know this is a hard one)
The people. These are some of the most courteous and kind people I have ever worked with!
