Honolulu District awards $14.2M contract for repairs to training complex at PTA

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (Sept. 9, 2019) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Honolulu  District awarded a $14.2 million firm-fixed-price contract for the construction of an Operational Readiness Training Complex (Barracks) (W9128A-19-C-0006) at Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA), Island of Hawaii, Hawaii.

Bids were solicited via the internet with six received. Fiscal 2018 military construction funds for $14.2 million were obligated at the time of the award.

Per the plans and specifications of the existing building footprints, the construction of new buildings will occur after demolishing existing structures. Repairs for the various facilities include site grading and utility improvement with an estimated completion date of Dec. 1, 2021.

The ORTC offers deploying/redeploying brigade and battalion level Soldiers the provisions accommodating the transient training functions including housing, dining, tactical equipment storage, and vehicle maintenance.
