FORT SHAFTER, HI -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District awarded a $54,772,000 contract June 29 to David Boland, Inc., Titusville, Fla., for a fiscal year 2012 project to build the MCA PN69489 Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) Infrastructure, Phase 1, Wheeler Army Airfield on Oahu, HI.
The Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) Infrastructure Phase 1 is essential for the 25th Infantry to meet future mission requirements and will be the first of 17 phases for a new CAB campus. Construction includes demolition and clearing of the proposed CAB Campus, upgrades to electrical and telecommunication systems and supporting facilities at Buildings 575, 1322 and 1324. Work also includes grading, roadways and sidewalks, sewer, water, fire protection, drainage, power, communications and a fuel system.
Construction of future phases will include barracks, company and battalion operational facilities, dining facilities, parking apron and taxiway for the future CAB Campus. Future phases, however, have not yet been funded by Congress.
Contract number W9128A-12-C-0009 has a 1,031 calendar day performance period after a receipt of notice to proceed. The contract was awarded by Unrestricted Procurement with six bids received.
