The Honolulu District Regulatory Branch is responsible for 12 million square miles across the Pacific Ocean including the Hawaiian Archipelago, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the U.S. Pacific Minor Outlying Islands. The Hawaiian Archipelago consists of eight major islands, several atolls, numerous smaller islets, and seamounts extending 1,300 nautical miles. American Samoa consists of five islands (Tutuila, Aunu’u, Ofu, Olosega, and Ta‘ū ) and two atolls (Rose Atoll and Swains Island). Guam is the southernmost island in the Mariana Archipelago. CNMI includes the islands of Rota, Aguijan, Tinian, Saipan, and 10 smaller islands to the north. The U.S. Pacific Minor Outlying Islands include Baker, Howland, Jarvis, Midway, and Wake Islands, Kingman Reef, Johnston Atoll, Palmyra Atoll. Our main office is located in Honolulu, on the Island of Oahu. The Regulatory Chief and six Regulatory Specialists/Project Managers are stationed on Fort Shafter in Building 252. The Honolulu office primarily works on projects in Hawaii, American Samoa and the U.S. Minor Outlying Islands.
We also have a field office in Guam on the Apra Harbor Naval Complex staffed by one Project Manager. This office is responsible for projects in Guam and CNMI.
