Wounded Warriors Gain Hands-On Experience with Corps of Engineers
Honolulu District Commander Lt. Col. Thomas D. Asbery (left) talks to a group of U.S. Marine Corps Wounded Warriors about job opportunities with the Corps of Engineers and Honolulu District during a visit in Nov. 2012 and to help the Marines get an understanding of the District’s missions and possibly find a position working within the District. The District established an agreement with the Marine Wounded Warrior Program located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii to sponsor Marines currently placed in the program. These Marines will work in areas of their expertise or interest within the Honolulu District, allowing for continued rehabilitation and support for these well deserving warriors. The District has had an ongoing program with the Army Wounded Warrior Program out of Schofield Barracks. This partnership with the USMC is an opportunity to provide additional support.
