  • Lt. Col. Hoyman Becomes 70th Honolulu District Commander

    Lieutenant Colonel James D. Hoyman became the 70th commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Honolulu District in a military ceremony held July 11 on Fort Shafter's Palm Circle parade field. Former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pacific Ocean Division Commander Brig. Gen. Jeffrey L. Milhorn hosted the ceremony during which outgoing commander Lt. Col. Christopher W. Crary and incoming commander Lt. Col. Hoyman passed the ceremonial flag symbolizing the official change of command. During the ceremony, Hoyman and his family were presented with fresh flower leis, a Hawaiian symbol of welcome, with the Crary family also receiving leis as a tribute to their service.
