    The U.S. Army’s 7th Dive Detachment just completed a dive survey for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District in support of a Navy Dept. financed structural study of the historic Seaplane Ramps at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) on Kaneohe Bay.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Honolulu District recently completed a very successful Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) during which 534 contract actions were awarded totaling $146,692,463.

  • Corps Cleans Up Fort DeRussy for National Public Lands Day 2015

    More than 50 volunteers picked up trash at Fort DeRussy in Waikiki in honor of National Public Lands Day Sept. 19. The Corps of Engineers’ Pacific Regional Visitor Center (RVC) coordinated the event which was supported by Corps employees, U.S. Army Transporters from the 545th Transportation Company, and Punahou Junior ROTC cadets.

  • Army Corps, 29th BEB Hold Ribbon Cutting for South Range Road Project

    Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii, Directorate of Public Works, 29th Brigade Engineer Battalion (29th BEB) and Military Police units gathered Sept. 15 to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Schofield’s new South Range Road Project area. The 101-acre complex built by contractor Joint Venture Dck-ECC Pacific LLC and managed by the Honolulu District, features 22 new buildings, five miles of roadway, a one million gallon water storage tank, and is the new home for the 29th BEB, the 249th Engineer Battalion Prime Power "A" Company, the 19th Military Police Battalion (CID), and the 500th Military Intelligence Brigade.

  • Delta Company Linemen Power Restoration of Electricity on Saipan

    Delta Company of the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power) deployed to Saipan in August and provided much-needed power line restoration support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) authority missions in response to Typhoon Soudelor. Typhoon Soudelor struck Saipan Aug. 2-3 with estimated 120-mph gusts, heavy rains, and lightning, leaving the island's 50,000 residents and tourists without water or power.

  • USACE Deploys to Support Typhoon Soudelor Relief Efforts

    In support of the Governor, local responders and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) personnel deployed in early August to support recovery efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Soudelor in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas (CNMI).

  • Cadet District Engineer Training Offers Summer USACE Experience

    The Honolulu District hosted two U.S. Army Cadets during July as part of the Cadet District Engineer Program (CDEP). This program allows West Point and ROTC Cadets an opportunity to gain first-hand construction and engineering experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

  • USARPAC Commanding General Tours Historic Bldg. T-112

    The Honolulu District was honored today to host a site visit for U.S. Army Pacific Commander Gen. Vincent K. Brooks and his staff at the Corps’ Bldg. T-112 Renovation Project on Fort Shafter’s historic Palm Circle. Building T-112, built in 1907 and also known as Dunning Hall, is an important structure that is a key part of the Palm Circle National Historic Landmark District.

    Led by Honolulu District Commander, Lt. Col. Christopher W. Crary, and his wife Maria, more than 20 District teammates and their friends and partners hiked to Makapu’u Lighthouse at sunrise on April 13 to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the District’s founding.
