Interested parties are hereby notified that an application has been received for a Department of the Army permit for certain work in waters of the United States as described below and shown on the attached drawings and plans. NEC America Inc. and GTA (Teleguam Holdings LLC) propose to install six (6) new conduits to receive submarine fiber optic cables, and shortly after, land two new submarine cables in two of the conduits for the Southeast Asia‐U.S. (SEA‐US) telecommunication system linking Asia with Guam, Hawaii and California. The project is needed to complete the Guam link of the SEA‐US system with Asia and the rest of the U.S. The four spare conduits are needed to accommodate future cable landings anticipated by GTA.
