Corps Joins ABMC, Punchbowl to Dedicate Vietnam Pavilions at the Honolulu Memorial on Veterans Day 2012
The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC), along with the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) and the Honolulu District dedicated two new pavilions at the Honolulu Memorial on Sunday, November 11, 2012.

Honolulu District Awards $316.1 Million in FY12 Contracts in Hawaii, Pacific Region
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Honolulu District recently completed a very successful Fiscal Year 2012 (FY12) during which 506 contract actions were awarded totaling $316,128,089.00. Total awards for FY12 during the fiscal year-end (Sept. 2012) totaled $91,137,008.00 from 129 contract actions.

Honolulu District Awards Construction Contract for Repair of Palau Compact Road
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District awarded a $4,895,900.00, firm fixed price construction contract, September 30, to Trade West Construction Inc. of Mesquite, Nevada to repair sections of the Palau Compact Road.

Corps of Engineers, Wolfhounds and Garrison Perform Site Blessing for Renovation of Quad D at Schofield Barracks
Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii and contractor NAN Inc. performed a site blessing for the renovation of Quad D at Schofield Barracks Sept. 14. Quad D houses the famous 27th Infantry Regiment - “The Wolfhounds.”

DLNR And Corps of Engineers Sign Agreement to Kick-Off West Maui “Ridge to Reef” Initiative
The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District (Corps) signed a $3 million cost-share agreement today to develop a watershed plan to support the West Maui “Ridge to Reef” Initiative. The Initiative is one of the first efforts in the state to implement a comprehensive management strategy to address impacts to coral reefs across multiple watersheds. The watershed plan will be funded 75-percent by the Corps and 25-percent by DLNR.

The Asia-Pacific Center opens a new learning center in Ft. DeRussy
The Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies celebrated the official opening of Maluhia Hall, a new state-of-the-art learning center today. The $11.4 million learning center brings more than 10,000 sq ft of additional classroom space to support the U.S. Department of Defense institute’s security cooperation and executive education programs.

Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Chief of Engineers, visited the Honolulu District and Pacific Ocean Division (POD) headquarters here July 23-24 on the final leg of his tour of three POD Districts (Japan, Korea and Honolulu).
