Asquiroga Bay

Asquiroga Bay is located on the southeast coast of Guam, north of Talofofo Bay. The Asquiroga Bay Shore Protection Project was authorized under Section 14 of the Flood Control Act of 1946. The project is in the operations and maintenance phase.

Construction of the project was completed in December 1985, with a total project cost of $227,181 (Federal). The project consists of a rock revetment 300 feet long. The shoreline in this area is subjected to severe wave attacks during storms and typhoons. As a result of Super Typhoon Pongsona, December 2002, the project was severely damaged. The project was repaired under authority of Public Law 84-99, Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies and completed in August 2005.

Annual inspections are conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
