Auasi Small Boat Harbor

The Auasi Small Boat Harbor is located on the southeastern shoreline of Tutuila Island opposite the island of Aunuu. The project was authorized under Section 107 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1960, as amended. Construction was completed in March 1981 at a total cost was $1,095,936 (USACE: $955,213; Coast Guard: $47,076; non-Federal: $93,647).

The completed project consists of an entrance channel that is 360 feet long, 80 feet wide, and 10 feet deep; a turning basin that is 230 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 8 feet deep; a breakwater that is 125 feet long; an exterior revetment that is 165 feet long; an east jetty 100 feet long; a west jetty that is 450 feet long; and aids to navigation. The harbor is one of the two harbors serving as navigation end points between Tutuila and Aunuu islands. The local sponsor is the American Samoa Government.
