The Pago Pago Airport Beach Erosion Control project is located on the island of Tutuila, American Samoa. It was authorized under Section 14 of the Flood Control Act of 1946. The project was constructed 1980 at a cost of $289,080 (Federal: $250,000; non-Federal: $39,080). The project consists of 2,700 feet of rock revetment along the eastern length of the main runway with a crest elevation of +7.5 feet mean sea level. A second section was authorized under Section 14 and constructed on the eastern length of the main runway adjacent to the first section. The second section consists of 1,550 feet of rock revetment with a crest elevation +8.0 feet and was constructed in 1984.
